This is an account of someone’s story based on true events—a life full of amazing achievements in overcoming trauma and embarking on fascinating adventures, not all of which were good but ultimately leading to some superb triumphs.
Many stories have been written about the hideous events that can happen in someone’s life — traumatic, shocking, disturbing and almost unbelievable. This story contains many of those elements, but its main focus is on how these challenges were dealt with to achieve better outcomes. Join us in exploring the depths of human resilience and the path to lasting peace and independence.
Written by a Master Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) practitioner, this story aims to decipher how the brain can go from its most hopeless state to a journey of unparalleled empathy and, ultimately, peace. While empathy can provide peace, in this case, it also brought further dangers, and only mastering it could lead to a possible safer middle ground.
The story protects the identities of real persons while addressing the atrocities stemming from culture, a certain understanding of religion, and a community primarily run by men.
This is a story that will be released in skeleton chapters, presenting the main parts of the story, while the detailed and evidence-related items will be included in the completed book. The techniques used are all NLP-based and overlap with other forms of therapy, and they will be fully published in the final book. In the meantime, you can benefit from the techniques included in these skeleton chapters as soon as you read them.
This is a raw account — draft notes for the eventual book, presented as they come out, sometimes in no particular order. The aim is to get the information out as quickly as possible, especially for those in similar situations. Know that there is a way out. It is not easy and means standing your ground against family, culture, religion, and communities that are always ready to attack.
The hope is that this story will offer both inspiration and practical tools for those facing similar struggles. It is more than just Inaya’s journey; it is a guide for anyone seeking to navigate the complexities of trauma and externally imposed constraints.
Characters in this story include abusive individuals, those groomed to feel certain ways about specific topics, and threatening entities of a narcissistic nature.
The story follows Inaya, a female in the Pakistani community in the UK, specifically in London. She has experienced life changes from the racist woes of the East End to the religiously motivated riots of Southall to a strange balance in West London.
Inaya has faced a variety of traumas and overcome them, leading to a life of peace that seemed unbelievable given her initial yet long-standing circumstances.
Despite the isolation, familial control, and the lack of basic needs of a human being, Inaya’s story is one of hope and empowerment.
She went from potentially being forced into an arranged marriage at 16 to becoming a successful professional with the goal of remaining independent of men and certainly a husband. Little did anyone know, it was in everyone’s interest not to marry her — not just hers. The dark secrets and disabilities left by various traumas would most certainly have led to ruined lives or divorce. Divorce itself was deemed as “a life ruined” back then.
Standing by her brothers, watching them being taken advantage of in the somewhat arranged marriage situation, highlighted just how greed had infiltrated the females in her community. It became the norm. Everywhere you look, marriages lasting only months and resulting in the women taking as much as they could from their ex-husbands.
Her brothers’ misfortunes became her education. Inaya decided she would never be seen as one of them and would take steps to ensure that, even if she were ever to marry, she would remain independent.
They could stop her from reading, doing her homework, having outside contact, friends, and relationships, but they couldn’t stop her from making her dreams come true, whatever the cost.
Even now, it comes back to haunt her. As she realizes this is not just a personal battle she engaged in. It is a life journey that can leave a legacy, providing help and hope to many people. But only if she records it.
And so, here is the recording.
